When In Rome: Starting New Traditions In A Theater Of Ritual
Nick & Darian return to share how they chose to run a cinema reliant on traditions, borrowing influences from many sources, most notably from the world of live theater, to create new customs for Detroit filmgoers.
They will show 16MM examples from their Pre-show, such as the ultra-rare 1974 animated work Tangram, featuring music by Wendy Carlos, which will demonstrate how the audience participates in special routines which have become their unique trademarks designed to depart from the everyday and "do as the Romans do".
