Celebrate UN Day of the Girls with us at Camp United Nations for Girls New York City 2025 featuring a Day at United Nations Headquarters! Girls (ages 9-17) will celebrate Day of the Girl and explore the year’s IDG theme. The themed exercise includes a discussion on the status of girls and ways girls can continue working to improve their lives. Our Camp United Nations for Girls New York City 2024 is a two-day program that includes the activities outlined below. This is a day-program with parents being responsible for accommodations and transportation of those traveling to NYC to participate; no financial assistance is available for this event. Day of the Girl Activity
Day 2 - Conference Center (8am to 12pm)
Camp United Nations begins with a lesson on the history of the United Nations and the organization’s purpose. This is followed by a study of the structure, leadership, and the rules of procedure of the United Nations. Each student will be given an assignment to serve as a delegate for a UN Member State. When the General Assembly convenes delegates will propose a resolution. The resolution will be subject to negotiation and amendment by the UN Delegates before a vote on a final version of the resolution. Girl Scouts and Girl Guides earn a Global Action Award or World Thinking badge for participating in Camp United Nations for Girls.
