About this Event
Cambridge Audio Presents:
'Body of Work' with Keith Jopling & The Orielles
Join us at our Melomania venue in London SE1 for a special event exploring why the album format still matters. Music industry insider and author Keith Jopling discusses his new book Body of Work: How the Album Outplayed the Algorithm and Survived Playlist Culture, in conversation with indie rock band The Orielles.
Drawing on decades spent inside Sony Music, Spotify and EMI, Jopling’s book traces the album’s turbulent journey through the digital era. From Napster’s rise and fall to the playlist culture of today, Body of Work examines why the forty minute album remains the format artists continue to aspire to.
The conversation brings these ideas into the real world, with The Orielles reflecting on their own work, how their sound has evolved, and why the long form record still offers creative freedom in an algorithm driven landscape.
Join us for a thoughtful discussion about albums as art, attention in the streaming age, and why bodies of work still matter.
