Calum McIlroy is a guitarist, mandolinist, and singer from Aberdeenshire, known for his lyrical arrangements of traditional and original music. A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, he released his debut EP This Ill Deeds in 2020, earning critical praise and a nomination for Scots Singer of the Year at the MG ALBA Scots Trad Music Awards. In 2024, he won BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year and performed for King Charles and Queen Camilla at the Scottish Parliament’s 25th Anniversary celebrations. He is also a member of the trio Fell Line and has collaborated widely across the traditional music scene.
Joining him are Irish musicians Aidan Connolly and Bryan O’Leary, two leading performers of traditional Irish music. Dublin-born fiddler Connolly was nominated for Best Folk Instrumentalist at the RTÉ Folk Awards in 2022. Kerry accordionist O’Leary, named TG4 Young Musician of the Year in 2015, continues the rich Sliabh Luachra family tradition of polkas and slides. Together, they bring the distinctive fiddle and accordion tradition of Sliabh Luachra to audiences worldwide.
