About this Event
Join Leanne Hooper, Calgary’s Story Librarian, to learn more about Calgary Public Library’s growth from its earliest days at Central Memorial Park through to today with 21 community libraries across every city quadrant.
Annie Davidson campaigned to establish Alberta’s first public library, Alexander Calhoun devised to support an educated and inspired local community, and today Calgary Public Library continues to welcome, inspire, and support Calgarians through numerous programs, partnerships, and initiatives.
Presented in Partnership with Chinook Country Historical Society, a Chapter of the Historical Society of Alberta. CCHS is dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of Canadian and Alberta history for people of all ages. Organized in 1958 and incorporated in 1993, CCHS covers the region from Olds to Nanton and from the BC border to the Saskatchewan border.
