HISTORY
The Dia de los Muertos Celebration in Denver was first introduced in the Northside at Pirate Gallery in 1980’s with art, and altars and Piñatas. CHAC Gallery and Museo de las Americas quickly followed, introducing the Sacred Ceremonies of Aztec Dancers.
Currently, Dia de los Muertos is celebrated in many cities in Colorado and other cities across this nation as a cultural answer to Halloween. The Calaveras Masquerade Ball Fundraiser brings back the Dia de los Muertos art exhibition and festivities to the Northside in partnership with BRDG Project nonprofit gallery.
