From Sandrine of the Nourish Collective 🥰Café Mortel is returning to Sioux Falls.... this time in a new location!
Along with the move, we’re updating the name. What was formerly known as Death Café will now be Café Mortel. The French name feels gentler to many, and we think it captures the spirit of our gatherings beautifully.
This season, we’ll meet at Transitions. It’s a cozier, more intimate space—perfect for the kind of conversations that aren’t always easy but are always worth having.
If you’ve joined us before, you know what Café Mortel is all about: a welcoming, gentle space to talk, listen, and simply be together. If this is your first time, you’re warmly invited—come as you are.
I hope you’ll join us this month and see where the conversation takes us.
Free and open to all!
About Death Cafes:
At a Death Cafe people, often strangers, gather to eat, drink tea and discuss death.
Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
Our Death Cafes are always offered:
- On a not for profit basis
- In an accessible, respectful and confidential space
- With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
- Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!
