Remembrance Day in Cabbagetown 🌺You’re invited to join us on Tuesday, November 11 for the Cabbagetown Remembrance Day Ceremony at St. James’ Cemetery.

Chapel of St. James-the-Less, St. James’ Cemetery
635 Parliament St. (Parliament & Wellesley)
🕘 Schedule:
Doors open: 9:45 AM
Ceremony: 10:00 AM
Moment of silence & wreath laying: 11:00 AM (outdoors)
Guided tour of veteran graves to follow
The program will include:
• Processional with veterans, military, and local dignitaries
• Live trumpet and bagpipe performances (including the Last Post and Reveille)
• Readings and reflections from local elected officials
• “In Flanders Fields,” a Litany of Remembrance and Peace
• Brief scripture reading and words from the Vicar
• Two minutes of silence at 11:00 AM and laying of wreaths
After the ceremony, you’re invited to join a guided walking tour of veteran graves within St. James’ Cemetery, led by local historian Gilles Hout (Cabbagetown Preservation Association). Attendees will be invited to place poppies at individual headstones as a gesture of respect and remembrance. Poppies will be available.

Complimentary coffee, tea, pastries, and cookies will be provided by Daniel et Daniel Catering & Events and McDonald’s.
Important notes:
– This event is free and open to everyone: residents, families, local business owners, veterans and their families, and visitors.
– Please dress warmly — parts of the program, including the wreath laying and walking tour, take place outdoors.
– The ceremony takes place in a historic chapel and includes brief scripture and prayer elements, and all are welcome to attend and observe.
