About this Event

This workshop will guide participants through the process of developing C-41 process colour negative film in Gallery 44’s B&W Darkroom.

Learn new skills and gain experience developing your own colour film using the C-41 darkroom chemistry process using a Paterson daylight tank in G44’s facilities. This workshop will guide participants through the process of developing as many as two 35mm rolls or one 120 format roll of exposed C-41 process colour negative film (i.e. Kodak Portra, Ektar, Gold, ColorPlus etc.).

The workshop will use readily available Flic Film C-41 chemistry kit and will begin with a discussion about the best practices of using this chemistry and process. The focus of the workshop then shift to the G44 production sink where each participant will sequentially proceed (with support!) to develop their colour film from a shared supply of chemistry. Finally, the workshop will conclude with a discussion about scanning your developed C-41 colour negatives.

Participants will need to bring their own set of undeveloped film (max. of 2 rolls of 35mm, or one roll of 120 format ), all other materials will be provided.

This workshop will be presented in two small cohorts, one in the morning (10AM-1PM) and one in the afternoon (2PM-5PM). Please sign up for the workshop that best suits your schedule.
