Second case:
The local RCO Zoning meeting for the redevelopment of the now-shuttered Rite Aid site in the S 9th Street Market will take place Tuesday, October 7, at 7pm and Palumbo Rec Center.
The latest proposal calls for a residential-only component, with homes or duplexes fronting Darien, Catharine, and S 9th Street. Parking is proposed via a drive aisle accessed on Darien St, with inward facing garages. Several variances are being sought – notably, for the lack of any ground floor commercial frontage, excessive height (44’-45’ proposed vs 38’ allowed), rear yard depth (0’ proposed vs 9’ required), open area (6% proposed vs 20%+ required) -- as well as one for a non-conforming 2nd floor rear balcony, rear deck extending too close to the shared driveway.
