About this Event
An irreverent meet up/open mic/party/hootenany tocelebrate all things Burns/Scottish!
The Grisly Pear Midtown, 243 W54th Street, on Sunday Jan 26th at 6pm.
It’s been some years since we’ve held a Burns Night and this will be the first one at the Midtown location. We already have a few musicians, singers, comics, a couple of theatre folks and a solid crew of people ready to get up and give it a go with a reading or a song.
We format the night by sprinkling the more ‘polished’ performances, with the open mic, poetry competitions and the like.
This is a free event and this year is shaping up to be a cracker, with some traditional and some more tongue in cheek food and drink specials. Yes, there will be haggis.
Dress code is casual, think going to watch the football or the rugby. We are encouraging anyone who fancies it to get up to read a poem (we’ll have a selection curated by length and difficulty), sing a song or do a turn.
