About this Event
The Royal Parks charity is in the process of creating a new two-acre garden in The Regent’s Park to commemorate the life of Queen Elizabeth II. The new garden, designed to be a tranquil space for reflection in the centre of London and accessible to all, will add two acres of biodiverse parkland for everyone to enjoy and explore. It will feature a circular pond to support wildlife, a vibrant flower garden with plants significant to the late Queen, and a viewing platform with panoramic views of the garden and its surroundings.
Take part in a unique opportunity to shape a lasting tribute to Queen Elizabeth II and enjoy a behind-the-scenes guided walk before its opening next year. Please note, the garden is currently under construction.
You will help plant a variety of spring bulbs, including daffodils and snowdrops, alongside more unusual flowers. These bulbs have been chosen to add a joyous pop of colour, as well as some to provide nectar and pollen for vital pollinating insects.
Register for an hour-long slot between 10am and 2:30pm to be part of this wonderful experience in the new garden.
- This event is for adults 16 and over only.
- This event takes place on an active construction site and PPE will be provided for the planting activity including steel toe boots and hi-vis vests.
- Please wear sturdy footwear and thick socks for the guided tour and dress appropriately for the weather.
- You will be greeted by the team and taken into the garden at your start time, where you will be provided with all the equipment you need and learn about the bulbs you’re planting.
- Your 30-minute bulb planting session will be followed by a 20-minute guided tour of the new garden. No experience is necessary, just enthusiasm for nature and conservation.
- Please note this event will be attended by media, so if you do not want to be filmed, please make yourself known to a member of staff on the day.
