Your crops are ready and now we learn how to harvest them!
About this Event

You have plants growing in your garden but how do you know when to harvest your fruits, vegetables and herbs? We'll practice picking mint, parsley, bok choi, spinach, lettuce, kale and carrots. Sometimes you pull the whole plant out of the ground, sometimes you cut it at the base, and sometimes you pick off the leaves. We'll review how to know which strategy to use for all your garden plants, and how to get the most out of the plants you're growing.

And you get to take home what you pick!

This 5th event in the series will be guided by Dominique Charles of Plots and Pans. You don’t need to have come to any of our previous events to enjoy this one.

We'll be at Washington View Apartments (2629 Douglass Rd SE), where the Building Bridges Garden Club seeded spinach and carrots in March.

Bring all of your gardening questions! We'll make sure we get to all of them.

This is a free club for gardeners and soon-to-be gardeners (even if you’re just growing on your windowsill) in Ward 8 (and elsewhere) to meet each other, get your hands dirty, learn some tricks, get some free plants, and have fun. Everyone is welcome.

Refreshments included.

If foul weather is in the forecast, check the email you used for registration to see if we need to change our plans. The event will be outdoors. Please dress in clothes that will keep you comfortable and you don’t mind getting dirty.
