What great engineering teams have in common and how to build one
About this Event

Technical talent is the engine behind every great product. But building a high-performing tech team is not just about finding the best developers. It’s about creating an environment where innovation and agility are the norm, especially with AI rewriting the rulebook for development.

This event will bring together scaleup founders, CTOs, and talent leaders to explore what makes great tech teams tick – and how you can build (or rebuild) yours to scale. Expect candid conversation and insight from those who have done it before.

Speakers include

Neil Turner is the current CTO at GoCardless. Prior to that, Neil held the position of Senior Director of Technology at Capital One and has extensive experience in technology leadership roles at companies such as Amazon UK, blinkbox Entertainment Ltd, Microsoft TV, and Avanade. Throughout their career, Neil has demonstrated their expertise in engineering, development, and technology architecture.

Todd Royal is Head of Engineering (EMEA) at Vanta, a leading trust management platform that helps businesses automate security and compliance processes to build and prove trust. Todd has over 12 years of experience leading managers and teams and has driven core product development and product-led growth across both B2B and B2C SaaS businesses. Todd has a growth mindset and a passion for building sustainably healthy, high-performing teams.

Phil Kell is Vice President of Marketplace at Hackajob, a tech talent platform reshaping how companies connect with skilled developers. With a background in talent strategy and a passion for building inclusive hiring ecosystems, Phil helps leading organizations find the right tech talent while empowering candidates to showcase their skills beyond traditional CVs.

Arsema Fessehazion is the Founder of hire|py, an independent Python and tech recruitment consultancy helping startups and scale-ups across the UK, Europe, and Africa build impactful Engineering, Data, ML, and AI teams.
