About this Event
This administration has temporarily retreated from the anti-democratic techniques it deployed in Minneapolis. But make no mistake- the state is exploring new ways to threaten vulnerable folks and communities. America is in for at least three more years of this madness (holy sh!t), and we're going to need to play the long game by building resilient, active communities that are prepared for whatever comes next.
Bookish welcomes Tim & Shab- trusted community activists from the American Friends Service Committee- for an afternoon workshop exploring what it means to be a good neighbor in these wild times. Join us for a series of trainings at Neighborhood Church, and please help spread the word!
WHAT TO EXPECT: Meeting your neighbors, community building, de-escalation, and rapid response trainings. An opportunity to ask questions of longtime community organizers. Actionable, practical guidance. Small group breakouts for skill-building. Discovering other local actions and upcoming workshops.
ALL ATTENDEES MUST PRE-REGISTER . This is a free event, and childcare can be provided. We are dedicated to nonviolent action, and invite like-minded folks from across ATL to join us.
