About this Event
Smart money habits don't happen by accident — they're taught.
Budget Pretend Money is an interactive financial literacy class built for kids ages 8–12 who are ready to think bigger about money. Using pretend money and real-world scenarios, participants will make budgeting decisions, learn how loans work, and get an inside look at one of the largest financial transactions of a lifetime — buying a home.
👩💼 Led by Real Financial Professionals:
- 🏦 A Loan Officer will walk kids through how borrowing and interest work, and why responsible money management starts early.
- 🏡 A Licensed Realtor will break down the home buying process and show kids what it really takes to own property.
- 📄 A Title Professional will explain the final steps of a real estate transaction — and why every detail matters.
💡 What Kids Will Learn:
- How to build and manage a budget with pretend money
- The difference between needs, wants, and financial goals
- How loans and interest work in real life
- What goes into buying a home from start to finish
- How to think critically about financial decisions
🎯 Designed for Ages 8–12: Activities are hands-on and scenario-based, giving older kids a chance to think, problem-solve, and practice money skills in a structured but engaging environment.
