The Informals II 360 (31m36s)
In December 2023, artist duo Polina Medvedeva and Andreas Kühne (NL/NO) transformed The Old Market with an immersive performance and cinematic experience. The artists live-mixed documentary footage with sound art, performing alongside three of Brighton's outstanding musicians: Phonetic, Marshall Mandiangu, and Bobbie Johnson. This 360 event was a re-imagined presentation of their 2021 performance of The Informals II, which was co-commissioned by Lighthouse and Brighton Festival. Developed during a Re-Imagined residency at Lighthouse in 2019, Polina and Andreas explored and documented Brighton’s sub-cultures and youth cultures.

Make The Ting 360 (53m 24s)
December 2023 introduced a one-of-a-kind immersive experience in Brighton with Elijah’s Yellow Squares making their 360º debut at The Old Market. Funded by The Space, a national organisation supporting digital innovation in the cultural sector, this event featured a lively audience in the round. Make The Ting 360º included a series of exclusive videos unique to the scene, blending innovative, immersive, and original performance elements.
Elijah’s debut Brighton performance was described by an audience member as “exciting, accessible, inspiring, and brilliant.” This industry-first event combined an interactive lecture experience with 360º technology and a live grime MC set featuring Jammz. The performance experimented with hybrid structures, redefining what “immersive” can mean for an audience. By wrapping the venue in 360º Yellow Squares and incorporating live streaming, Make The Ting 360º offered a fresh take on traditional live events, experimenting with the transition from in-person performance to cross-community digital experiences.
