Bruce Springsteen Unplugged w/ Michael Hesslein | Live at Cafe Wha? Friday, December 27th | 6:30PM Show, 5:30PM Doors
Come celebrate a night of Bruce Springsteen at his old stomping grounds, Cafe Wha?!
For the past decade, Michael Hesslein (“Hess”) made a name for himself as the principal songwriter and vocalist for New York rock & roll powerhouse Mail the Horse, garnering praise from media outlets including Brooklyn Vegan, Paste, Spin, American Songwriter, Relix, and more for his hand in crafting the particular brand of boisterous, rootsy bar-rock that earned the band festival slots at Bonnaroo, Firefly, and South By Southwest, and numerous placements in television shows such as American Gods, Doom Patrol, Robbie, Walker, and SEAL Team, and Mayor of Kingstown. When Mail the Horse went on hiatus during the pandemic, Hesslein released his critically-touted deeply wistful solo album Lamplight Motel in 2020. Since then, Hesslein has built a resume as a highly sought-after session and live keyboardist, music producer and composer, and film music supervisor. In 2021, he began one of his current roles as keyboardist for upstart indie rock band Fantastic Cat. In 2023, Hesslein came aboard as Music Director for comedian, actor, and singer John Early, appearing in and music directing Early’s HBO special Now More Than Ever. Early’s Now More Than Ever album, produced by Hesslein, was released via Thirty Tigers on September 13. Hesslein is currently on tour with both John Early and Fantastic Cat, composing, and preparing his next solo release for the spring of 2025.
