An evening of reading with Christopher Yusko, Steffi Tad-y, Mark Sampson, Farah Ghafoor, and guest speaker Mark Leslie Lefebvre
About this Event

The Brockton Writers Series (#BWS) is a bi-monthly literary reading series, hosted on the second Wednesday of every second month, funded by the Ontario Arts Council. The reading is PWYC (suggested $3-$5) and features a Q&A with the writers afterward. Books are available for sale. Join us for an exciting hybrid event: in person at Glad Day Lit on Lisgar St in Toronto, ON, Canada, or virtual over livestream. This is a must-attend gathering for all literature enthusiasts!

Many thanks to the Ontario Arts Council for their continued support.

Guest Speaker: Mark Leslie Lefebvre, Ask Not What Your Library Can Do For You

Readers: Christopher Yusko, Steffi Tad-y, Mark Sampson, Farah Ghafoor

Mark Leslie Lefebvre has worked in the book industry since 1992, the same year his first short story was published. An author who has embraced both traditional and self-publishing paths, Mark is known for his expertise in digital publishing, the book industry and inspiring and empowering writers to navigate the changing landscape of publishing.

Christopher Yusko spends his days working as a librarian somewhere in the frozen wastes of Canada, where he lives with his wife, his two daughters, and a cat named Dave Waller. His short fiction appears in Paramnesia: A Grendel Press Horror Anthology, Aurealis and Speculative City.

Steffi Tad-y is a disabled artist and writer from Manila. She is the author of “From the Shoreline” and “Notes from the Ward” published by Gordon Hill Press. Receiving support from the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council, Steffi’s poems often reflect on kinship, diasporic geographies, and formations of the mind. She lives in Toronto.

Mark Sampson is the author of eight books, most recently the novel Lowfield (Now or Never Publishing, 2025) and the poetry chapbook Big Wilson (Emergency Flash Mob Press, 2023). Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, he now lives and writes in Toronto.

Farah Ghafoor is the author of Shadow Price (House of Anansi, 2025). Selections of her debut won the E.J. Pratt Medal and Prize in Poetry, and were finalists for the CBC Poetry Prize and the Far Horizons Award. Farah resides in Tkaranto (Toronto).
