Brixton Orchard Volunteer Session

Join us at the Brixton Orchard, a green oasis nestled in the heart of bustling London! Become a part of our vibrant community of volunteers and contribute to maintaining this rare green space.

You'll connect, learn, and grow as you get your hands dirty planting for pollinators, caring for fruit trees, and cultivating traditional hedgerow plants. You'll also meet like-minded individuals and be a part of our green community.

Drop by on fortnightly Thursdays between 1pm - 3pm and stay for as little or as long as you can. All are welcome!

Key Information:

• Accessibility: The Brixton Orchard is accessible with a hard footpath, although some ground may be uneven.
• Families: Families are welcome, but children must be supervised at all times.
• Attire:Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a drink. Gloves are recommended, although tools will be provided.
• Weather Policy: Sessions continue rain or shine, but heavy rain may result in cancellation. Participants will be notified by email.

The Brixton Orchard is a project run by the Brixton Business Improvement District.

Info: Arrive and settle in at the Brixton Orchard. Get the tools out and go through safety protocols. Meet fellow volunteers and the session leader.

Info: Depending on the season and what is needed, the activities include: Planting for pollinators, Mulching paths, Weeding, Caring for fruit trees, Watering the land, and more!

Info: Wrap up, and (sometimes) Tea Time. Wind down with a cup of tea made from garden-grown herbs and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow volunteers.
