Britain Renewed: your invitation to a one-day conference hosted by UCL, the Future Governance Forum, Citizens UK, Power to Change and others

Speakers include Yamini Aiyar, Hilary Cottam, Dan Honig, Georgia Gould, Helen MacNamara, Margaret Levi, Tom Loosemore, Marc Stears, Nathan Yeowell and many more.

Join us to debate the key issues shaping the future of our country, including:

 • What would it mean to govern Britain with respect for ordinary people?
 • How can public services be renewed by drawing on human relationships?
 • How do we genuinely distribute power across the country?

Whichever party wins the next general election will face some of the most challenging circumstances since the Second World War. From sluggish growth to flatlining productivity. From an increasingly precarious healthcare system to the crises of adults and children social care. And from the existential threat of climate change to the urgent need for a just transition, our country’s challenges will only be overcome if we find a new way of governing together in deeper collaboration with, and respect for, communities outside of Westminster and Whitehall.

The next government will require the talents, expertise, and experience of individuals, institutions, and communities right across the country.

This invite-only conference will tap into the new currents in policy thinking about our method of governing itself, such as mission thinking, devolution of power, community empowerment, relational practice in public services and perhaps most importantly, the need for people of all backgrounds to feel they are treated by governments with respect.

Join us, and experts from around the world, at UCL’s brand new East London Campus, to explore how the next government can tell a new, coherent story of Britain, where we are, and where we are headed, together.
