About this Event
Brighter Futures is a collaboration between the NIHR funded Gateshead Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC), Newcastle University, Fuse - Centre for Translational Research in Public Health, Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) North East and North Cumbria, and Youth Focus North East.
Young people have been involved in the planning of this conference. The conference will include a key note by:
- Director of Public Health in Gateshead and Newcastle, Professor Alice Wiseman
Followed by:
- a young people's panel
- presentations
- lightening talks
- art or poster presentations
- workshops
This conference is designed to:
- connect lived experience, research, policy and practice to improve health outcomes with young people in the North East.
- raise the profile of issues affecting the health inequalities experienced by young people.
- showcase the latest research and initiatives designed to support young people to thrive (public, private and not-for-profit).
- create a space to develop future project collaborations and activity design.
Expression of interest deadline extended
If you're interested in contributing to this conference through a presentation. lightening talk, poster or art presentation please complete this form: Brighter Futures: Young People in the North East Conference – EOI form . Deadline is January 30th.
Priority will be given to those submissions that have engaged young people in a meaningful way and those where young people will be involved in the co-delivery of a presentation, workshop, lightening talk or poster/art presentation.
Our conference advisory group is made up of young people and they will be selecting the inclusions for the day. Please ensure your written submissions are written in an accessible way. Remuneration for young people's involvement will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
