About this Event
Dulwich Park is a historic 72-acre Victorian pleasure garden in South London, established in 1890 on former farmland known as the Five Fields. Framed by ancient oak boundaries, the park blends heritage and nature, featuring listed gates and buildings, a boating lake, expansive open lawns, and the distinctive American Gardens. This cherished green space supports wildlife and provides a key local hub for recreation, wellbeing and community events.
In 2026, volunteers will focus on conserving the American Gardens, supporting the health of rhododendrons through weeding, pruning and invasive control. Tasks also include path maintenance, raking green waste and seasonal planting, helping protect the park’s ecological and historic character while enhancing nectar-rich habitats that support pollinators throughout the growing season.
In order to support our community work, HandsOn London London may take photographs and video clips for social media during volunteering sessions. If you would prefer not to feature in these, please let us know.
