About this Event
Spring is finally on its way! Join us at Holland Park to prepare the site for the new season. They day will be spent improving the biodiversity and resilience of the parks wilder spaces, while learning about the wildflife that thrives there.
Holland Park is the largest park in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and is also home to the Ecology Centre, which hosts a monthly volunteering group, Taskforce for Nature.
Some of the activities involved are planting bulbs, pruning trees and pulling brambles! Last week, volunteers worked on the wilderness enclosure, which will soon be used as an outdoor classroom. It's a great chance to learn from experts about the weird and wonderful wildflife found in London's green spaces, on a wonderful and historic site.
All of the necessary equipment will be provided and on the day you will be given training on how to use all of the tools safely. Please wear sensible footwear and clothes, with your arms and legs fully covered, and layers for warmth. In the event of light rain, activities will still go ahead. Please bring your own lunch and water, which can be topped up in the cafe on site.
We encourage you to bring along friends, family and kids, or come by yourself and meet some new people. An exciting opportunity to engage with a strong local community and spend time in nature!
