About this Event

This three-part workshop series explores the cutting-edge world of fashion technology, where creativity and science converge to redefine the future of apparel. Geared towards fashion and design professionals, as well as scientists involved in wearable technologies, each session dives deep into key aspects of integrating technology with fashion—from concept development to large-scale production. Through talks that build on each other, participants will learn strategies for designing innovative wearables, the use of digital avatars for virtual fashion workflows, and understanding the practical challenges of scaling wearable technology for the mass market. An informal Q&A with the presenter and time to get to know fellow attendees follows each talk as part of the session.

In Part one, join Hayley Stolee-Smith a multidisciplinary designer with over a decade of experience, as she delves into the unique challenges and opportunities in designing wearable devices. Drawing on real-world examples, Hayley explores the integration of 3D modeling, laser cutting, and traditional garment techniques while addressing key factors like product lifecycle, sizing, and user experience. Her insights offer a fresh perspective on creating functional, fashionable, and innovative wearable technologies. This presentation equips developers with practical strategies and design solutions to successfully bring cutting-edge wearables to market.
