Brian Katulis is a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, specializing in U.S. foreign policy and national security. He hosts MEI’s Taking the Edge Off the Middle East podcast and writes the “Making Sense” column on U.S. foreign policy. Drawing on decades of experience living and working in the Middle East, he has built trusted relationships with leaders across government, media, and international organizations. Katulis previously served at the State Department, Defense Department, and National Security Council, and his work continues to shape key policy debates on America’s role in the region.
