Musical Style: JazzAward winning drummer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Brian Claxton has assembled a power house quartet of guitarist Graham Dechter, pianist Eric Gunnison, and bassist Alex Frank in Denver for one night only.
Graham Dechter has performed and recorded with some of the most respected names in jazz, including: Ernie Andrews, Regina Carter, Bill Charlap, Gilbert Castellanos, Kurt Elling, John Faddis, Curtis Fuller, Roberta Gambarini, Benny Golson, Wycliffe Gordon, Benny Green, Roy Hargrove, Stefon Harris, Jimmy Heath, Jon Hendricks, Red Holloway, Quincy Jones, Joe Locke, Joe Magnarelli, Russell Malone, Wynton Marsalis, Barbara Morrison, Les McCann, James Moody, John Pizzarelli, Claudio Roditi, Jackie Ryan, Marlena Shaw, Terell Stafford, Byron Stripling, Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, Peter Washington, Frank Wess, Nancy Wilson, Phil Woods and Snooky Young. He has toured throughout the United States and Europe with Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra and has played at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and the Hollywood Bowl. Graham has also been a part of major festivals including the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Playboy Jazz Festival, the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Port Townsend Jazz Festival and the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
Alex Frank is the Musical Director and bassist for Jeff Goldblum’s jazz group, The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. He has arranged or co-arranged many songs on the group’s three albums for guest vocalists Kelly Clarkson, Fiona Apple, Gregory Porter, and Miley Cyrus. Alex spent the first ten weeks of 2023 in London as Jeff Goldblum’s on-set vocal coach during the filming of the Wicked movies, working with stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, director Jon Chu, composer Stephen Schwartz, and record producer Greg Wells. Previously, Alex appeared on the screen playing the bass live for the film Jersey Boys, directed by Clint Eastwood. He has performed in such iconic venues as the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, London’s Royal Festival Hall, New York’s The Town Hall, England’s Glastonbury Festival, and Le Trianon in Paris. A major highlight was performing at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2019 for England’s Festival of Remembrance. They performed an arrangement of Alex’s, accompanied by The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines, and attended by the late Queen Elizabeth and the entire Royal Family. Television appearances include The Today Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Graham Norton Show, as well as multiple appearances on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Eric Gunnison is an internationally renowned jazz artist with links to numerous iconic artists, venues and cities throughout the country. Eric was raised in Buffalo, NY and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, graduating with a BA in music composition in 1979. He lives in Denver where he has been a mainstay in the music scene for two decades. Eric performs the world over and has appeared in concert with Ron Miles, Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Phil Woods, Bobby Shew, Chris Potter, Christian McBride, and Eddie Gomez just to name a few. Some of the more famous work in Eric's career, was his time serving as a pianist and music director to the great Carmen McRae. Since 1991 Gunnison has also been the pianist and a composer/arranger for the Denver super-group Convergence.
