Learning outcomes: By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:
I. Understand the role of Trauma/ Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) as main drivers for drug and alcohol dependence.
II. Understand the nature and impact of stigma in relation to drug and alcohol use and accessing support.
III. Recognize common forms of stigma faced by people who use drugs and alcohol.
IV. Reflect on their own attitudes and biases towards people who use drugs and alcohol.
V. Develop strategies to challenge and reduce stigma in their professional practice.
VI. Promote a supportive and non-judgmental environment for individuals experiencing with alcohol and drug dependence
VII. Using non-stigmatising, βPeople firstβ language
