About this Event
The FARRER Breakfast Roundtable
For Charity Marketers & Fundraisers
Once a month, we take over a private room at Smiths of Smithfield and bring together a small group of charity marketers and fundraisers for an honest, open and genuinely useful morning.
We keep it small and limited to one person per charity, because that way everyone is heard and part of the conversation.
As Sam Wilson from Haemophilia Society put it:
“I always leave Farrer events brimming with ideas, excited to put them into action. You’re guaranteed a friendly room of peers, lively conversation and a genuine community in a profession that can sometimes feel isolating… Not in any way ‘sales-y’. Would fully recommend to anyone looking for fresh ideas, reassurance and a tasty breakfast.”
And Jill Haines from Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust said:
“Very inspiring… a friendly bunch of charity folk discussing our fundraising and marketing woes over a delicious breakfast. No hard sells, just good conversations and the chance to learn while making new connections.”
What the morning looks like
8:30–9:00am – Arrivals & Coffee
You arrive, grab a coffee or tea, and settle in. It’s relaxed. No name badges and awkward icebreakers, just a warm welcome.
Introductions
Everyone introduces themselves, the charity they work for and their role. This helps frame the room and quickly surfaces shared challenges.
Open Discussion, Led by the Room
Before the event (or during introductions), attendees are encouraged to share topics they’d like to cover, whether that’s:
- A fundraising challenge they’re wrestling with
- A campaign that underperformed
- A tech or tracking headache
- A success they’re happy to unpack
- A strategic question for their peers
If someone has tried something that worked brilliantly, we want to hear it. If something flopped, that’s just as valuable. The aim is collective learning.
Ollie hosts the discussion and makes sure everyone is included and every key topic gets covered, but there are no slides, no presentations and absolutely no pitch.
Breakfast is on us
FARRER provides breakfast, so you’ll be able to order from the menu (or enjoy what’s provided on the day), alongside coffees and teas. It’s a proper sit-down breakfast, not a stale pastry and a lukewarm filter coffee.
The Atmosphere
This is not a networking event in disguise.
It’s not a sales funnel.
And it’s not a lecture.
It’s a room of charity professionals who:
- Care about their cause
- Want to do better marketing and fundraising
- Sometimes feel the weight of doing it with limited time and budget
The biggest feedback we get?
It’s reassuring to realise other charities are facing the same challenges.
You’ll leave with:
- Practical ideas you can implement immediately
- New sector connections
- A clearer sense of what’s working elsewhere
- And, ideally, a bit more energy than when you arrived
About the Host
Ollie runs FARRER, a specialist agency supporting charities across Meta, SEO, Google Ad Grants, YouTube, TikTok and LinkedIn Ads. If growth questions come up, he’ll happily share what we’re seeing across the sector, but the morning is about shared learning, not selling.
If you’re a charity marketer or fundraiser looking for fresh ideas, reassurance, honest conversation and a genuinely welcoming room. The Breakfast Run is for you.
