Felix is the entrepreneur behind one of Vancouver’s most inspiring circular economy companies. What began as a simple observation, that millions of disposable chopsticks are used once and thrown away, became a global business that transforms waste into beautifully engineered products and furniture.
Today, ChopValue collects discarded chopsticks from restaurants and businesses and transforms them into high-quality materials and products through a network of local micro-factories, proving that sustainability and strong business fundamentals can go hand in hand.
Felix’s story is about much more than recycling chopsticks.
It’s about rethinking waste, designing better systems, and building businesses that create value for people, cities, and the planet.
At this meetup, Felix will share insights from his entrepreneurial journey, from the early spark of an idea to building a global circular economy brand, along with lessons on innovation, resource efficiency, and what it takes to turn purpose into a scalable business.

Tickets are by donation, and free for BFB Volunteers. Donations are appreciated, and will help with the costs associated with hosting this event and Brands for Better's ongoing good work as a 100% volunteer based not-for-profits in Vancouver. We stretch this money a loooong ways!

At each Meet Up, we have 3-minute "How can we help" pitches. Individuals and organizations doing impactful work in the community use these short pitches to share about their initiative and how the audience and Brands for Better network can help them.
The goal is to raise awareness of great things happening in our city, provide access to our network for volunteers and resources, and tap into our individual and brand networks to amplify the needs to the community at large.
Please note, "How Can We Help" pitches are not intended to be used as a way to drive fundraising for your intiative.
Space is limited to 2 pitches per event.

Accessibility needs, as requested at time of sign up, will be accommodated to the best of our ability. Upon request, we can help with wheelchair access and accomodate requests for unobstructed views, and keep volunteers on hand to support in whatever way we can. This in-person event will be available in English only.
