Tom Goossens and his DESCHONECOMPANIE completely dismantle Sémélé, Haendel's famous opera, to reconstruct an exciting story about the collective and loneliness, capacity and acceptance, light and music. In the opera, the supreme god Jupiter seduces the young earthly girl Sémélé. Juno, Jupiter's wife, is furiously jealous. She disguises herself as Sémélé's sister and manipulates the girl to lead her to her doom. Fate strikes and Jupiter causes Sémélé's death against his will. With only three actors and a lute, DESCHONECOMPANIE tells the story of Jupiter and Sémélé in an opera for toddlers.
