Get ready to punch, lift, sweat, and brunch your way for a GOOD cause.
Join us for BOX & BRUNCH, a high-energy community workout led by Vertical Skillz Outreach, followed by a delicious brunch at AlaMar Kitchen & Bar, featuring Chef Nelson German from Top Chef Season 18. AlaMar will generously donate 10% of all brunch purchases to support our youth boxing program.
Vertical Skillz Outreach is a grassroots health and wellness program dedicated to providing mentorship, fitness, and safe training spaces for youth and the community in Oakland. VSO was founded by Coach G (Dalia “La Pantera”) — a former OUSD educator, professional boxer, Golden Gloves champion, and Impact Award–winning coach with over 20 years of experience mentoring youth through sports and fitness.
Funds raised from this event will help support ongoing programming, equipment needs, and our upcoming USA Boxing sanctioned show on August 8th.
Our most immediate need is covering the remaining balance for the dome canopy at our outdoor training space, which protects our athletes and allows the program to run year-round.
We’ll kick off the morning with a fun and inclusive community boxing and fitness workout in the park, followed by brunch where you can relax, connect, and build community with fellow supporters.
It’s the perfect way to spend a beautiful Oakland morning—soaking up the sunshine, throwing a few punches, and sharing great food with great people.
