About this Event
Explore the delicate balance between surrender and restraint in "Bound in Balance," a 2.5-hour Shibari workshop designed to deepen your understanding of trust, vulnerability, and emotional release through the art of ropework.
Shibari, the ancient Japanese art of rope bondage, is more than just tying knots—it’s about connection, communication, and the beauty of surrender. In this guided experience, you’ll learn the fundamentals of rope techniques, but more importantly, you’ll embark on a journey of physical and emotional exploration, focusing on the themes of restraint and letting go.
What You Will Experience:
🖤 Opening Circle & Consent: Begin with an intention-setting circle, where we will create a safe and consensual environment. We’ll discuss boundaries, safety, and the art of communication, preparing you for the journey ahead.
🖤 Shibari Basics: Learn foundational rope techniques and knots in a hands-on session, perfect for beginners or those wishing to refine their skills. We’ll explore how these practices can embody the balance between control and surrender.
🖤 Surrender Through Restraint: Engage in practical exercises that focus on the sensations of restraint, where you will either tie or be tied by a partner. The aim is to release control, trust your partner, and embrace vulnerability.
🖤 Mindful Breathing in Restraint: Experience a powerful breathwork session while bound, allowing you to connect deeply with your body, emotions, and the act of letting go.
🖤 Boudoir Micro Mini: Practice your ties & embodiment through a boudoir photo moment to commemorate this beautiful evening.
🖤 Reflection & Sharing Circle: Participate in a closing circle to reflect on your experience, share insights, and discuss the emotional and physical release that occurs in both surrendering and holding space for others.
