BOUFFON - BAD, BOLD AND BRILLIANTHarnessing the power of the Jungian Shadow to find your Bouffon
Come and join Jaime Mears for a weekend-workshop in bouffon and the Jungian Shadow!
"Jaime's fusion of Jung shadow with Bouffon exercises is a powerful prompt to create pieces that are at once personal and universal"
- Eric Davis (RED BASTARD)
Workshop Overview
In this workshop, we will playfully explore the Jungian ‘Shadow’—the ‘unsafe’ or ‘undesirable’ parts of our personality banished from our social persona. Much like the Bouffon, who have been outcast to the ‘Swamps of the Unwanted,’ these parts of ourselves pop up at inopportune moments to shake up our lives and reveal our hypocrisies. Bouffons are uniquely positioned to mock everything and everyone, joyfully disrupting the status quo. Why not start with ourselves?
Never tried Bouffon?
We’ll cover foundational techniques to give you a taste of this mad and deliciously wicked genre of performance and training.
Familiar with Bouffon?
Experience its explosiveness and intensity in a different way.
"If you have any interest in Bouffon, give Jaime a try, she is terrific!!!"
— Hilary Chaplin – Clown, Performer, Queen NY
