DESCRIPTION OF TOUR LOCATIONS:
Historic Ranch — This avocado ranch has been owned and operated by three generations of Ventura families and the current owner is a widely acclaimed artist with a studio on site, open to our guests. The massive grounds are lush with mature trees and bushes.
Estate Views — The hilltop home, adjacent to the Ventura Land Trust, was a victim of the Thomas Fire. Owners have renewed and landscaped the levels overlooking panoramic views of the Pacific and the beautiful Ventura hillsides. Guests will enter through their in-home pottery studio, and step into the rear of the property filled with art.
Native Spaces — When their home was razed during the Thomas Fire, the owners purchased the adjacent lot in addition to rebuilding their home. The corner vacant lot has been transformed into a native garden and open to the neighborhood for meditative walks, taking in the totem and serenity.
Mid-Century, Mid-Town Bungalow — An artist and her husband have lent their creativity to turn a small yard into an intimate and innovative space, filled with art, water features, bistro-style dining and a watercolor studio. They have brought this 1950's bungalow into a modern-day treasure.
Master Gardener's Retreat —Bird houses, a water feature and intimate dining will inspire and motivate guests to create their own outdoor sanctuaries. A Master Gardener, the owner has infused her yard with native plants, planter boxes filled with vegetables and privacy-enhancing fast-growing bushes.
Joie de Vivre – A hillside that is both elegant and whimsical, highlighted with the owner’s pottery. Mature trees escaped the Thomas Fire and shade entertainment spaces that lead to steps to vista points above the home.
Settling Ponds — The Ventura Audubon Society will assist guests with information about the shore birds on Heron Island and the various ponds. They will set up binoculars on tripods at various viewing spots and share local and migratory bird habits.
