Bookbinding Workshop: Make Your Own 5-Hole Pamphlet Zine
Ever wanted to make your own zine or hand-bound booklet from scratch? This relaxed, hands-on workshop is a perfect introduction to DIY bookbinding and zine culture.
Led by experienced bookbinder and artist, Emily Anastasia, with a background at the London Centre for Book Arts and SIM Imaging, this session celebrates the joy of making things by hand and the rich DIY history of self-publishing. Whether you’re an artist, designer, writer, musician, or just curious, this workshop is all about giving it a go.
What you’ll make
You’ll create your own single-section, 5-hole pamphlet booklet using a simple traditional binding technique. You’ll learn how to:
- Fold pages correctly
- Pierce paper safely
- Sew a classic pamphlet stitch
By the end, you’ll leave with a hand-bound booklet ready for drawing, writing, collage, lyrics, notes or your next zine idea.

- All ages welcome: Simple techniques suitable for adults and children
- Hands-on & interactive: Learn by doing, with step-by-step guidance
