Come Rhyme With Me - Poetry, Art & Food.
Come Rhyme With Me is a cross-disciplinary, multi-sensory experience combining poetry, live art installation, site-specific performance, and culinary response.
The project begins with a series of poems written by The Chubby Northerner, exploring themes of locality, memory, and identity in relation to Wigan. In direct response, artist Kirby Corless creates sculptural installations, performance moments, and spatial interventions, each designed specifically for the hosting venue.
Adding a further sensory layer, the project includes a dinner party developed in collaboration with a local chef. For each location, the chef creates a unique dish inspired by the poetry and artwork, offering audiences the opportunity to literally taste the work. The dinner party sits somewhere between a shared meal and a workshop, encouraging audiences to respond to the poetry, art, and food in their own way.
As the project moves between venues, both the artwork and the dish evolve. This creates an ongoing dialogue between poet → artist → chef → audience, positioning community participation at the heart of the work.
