About this Event
Can emerging defense technologies make us safer in a world with increasing nuclear dyads – or are we opening Pandora's Box?
Author and international security expert Ankit Panda joins the non-profit think tank Institute for Security and Technology to discuss his new book, ‘The New Nuclear Age: At the Precipice of Armageddon’, and the changing landscape of nuclear security amid rapid technological change. How do emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), hypersonic capabilities, quantum sensing, cyberweapons, and space domains—present challenges and opportunities in the new nuclear age? And what can be done about it?
In a fireside chat with IST Chief Executive Officer Philip Reiner, Ankit and Philip will chart the origins of our new nuclear age, delving into today’s nuclear threats, the intersection of emerging technologies and nuclear risk, shifts in the global nuclear order, and evolutions in nuclear strategy and force posture from the U.S., Russia, China, and other nuclear states. An audience Q&A will follow.
