Saving Democracy: A Community Conversation

Spent 32 years as Representative for CA 16th district--worked tirelessly for democracy!



An in-person conversation between all of us, not just the speakers talking at you (but we will talk), not a fundraiser, not a zoom, not a protest, not doom scrolling, or news shows, a chance for real conversation, sharing answers and solutions!



Many local organizations tabling (more to be added) Swing Left Peninsula--YES on 50!, Central Valley Matters, Feminist Majority, Indivisible Portola Valley, Its Blue Turn, Vote Riders, Democratic Messaging Project --organizations that are giving you opportunities for participants to actually change the trajectory of our country and:

Info: The doors will open at 5:30 and several local organizations with tables that are all doing actions that will all people to join in something that they relate to--from registering voters, supporting the Central Valley candidates, helping with YES on 50 through Swing Left, Indivisible goups, helping voters getting what they need to vote, postcarding, women't issues, supporting young people in different ways and much more. Speakers will speak for 1 hour at 7:00 on the state of the country and then from 8-10 will be Q & A, real conversation, ideas, solutions. Then another time to connect with the organizations. All is to help people do something besides worry!

Info: Doors open at 5:30 --there will be refreshments and conversation right away. We will have many local political organizations there to connect with attendees about ways they can actually help save democracy, from registering people to vote, supporting the Central Valley voters, to various Indivisible groups, postcard writing, YES on 50, winning the US House in '26 to stop the trajectory of this administration, how to call elected officials and ask them to vote how you would like, empowering students and others, frankly doing something besides worry! The tabling will go on before and after the speakers. The speakers will talk for 1 hour starting at 7pm and from 8-10 we will have Q & A--a true discussion and folks will have time again to go to the tables and talk with the local groups about what you can do!
