A native South Carolinian, John Rhea is a novelist and retired criminal defense attorney. He was educated at Clemson University and the University of South Carolina School of Law. After serving as the law clerk to the Honorable John C. Hayes III, he went into private practice in his hometown of Rock Hill, becoming a partner in the firm of McKinney, Tucker and Rhea.
