Join us for a special afternoon celebrating Sabathani 90’s Club member Katie L. Sample and the release of her memoir, All Things Work Together for Good.

Enjoy an inspiring conversation as Katie shares stories from her life, discusses the journey of writing her memoir, and answers audience questions. Guests will also enjoy live music, light snacks, and the opportunity to purchase copies of the book.
Come celebrate a remarkable educator, advocate, and community leader whose work has impacted generations in Minneapolis and beyond. Seating is limited, and registration is required.

About Katie L. Sample
Katie L. Sample was born in Rockford, Illinois, in 1933, the youngest of six daughters born to Isaac and Eva Williamson. A lifelong educator, child advocate, and social worker, Katie worked with Minneapolis Public Schools for 25 years before retiring in 1993.
She later founded the African American Academy for Accelerated Learning (AAAL), a program dedicated to fostering appreciation for African history, culture, and values among young people. After more than two decades of leadership, Katie retired from AAAL in 2009, though the organization continues its summer enrichment programming today. Katie remains an active and valued presence in the community through her ongoing service and support.
