Join us at Hale End library for a fun filled session!
Book Reading and Craft Session with the amazing children's author Kristy Sheed is happening in person! Bring the whole family and dive into Kristy's new children's book Girard's Journey - A Snail's Tail, a heartwarming rhyming adventure about finding home.
Girard the Snail is lost in the woods! After feasting on some delicious leaves, he wanders too far and can’t find his way back. Tired and looking for a place to rest, Girard meets lots of woodland friends - a stoat, a thrush, mice, a mole, even a swan - but no one has space for him. Just when he’s about to give up, a clever fox reminds him of something very important: Girard has been carrying his home with him all along!
Girard 's Journey - A Snail's Tail is a gentle, beautifully illustrated story about belonging, resilience, and the comforting truth that sometimes, everything you need is already with you.
Perfect for bedtime, early readers, and little adventurers aged 3-7 years.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful book reading, and get creative with a hands-on craft activity too! It’s a perfect way to spark imagination and enjoy some quality time together.
A bit about the author: Kristy Sheed is a storyteller, poet, and mum of three who has spent years inventing songs, rhymes, and silly verses for her children. Her youngest, aged 5, is the biggest fan of A Snail’s Tale, which grew out of their love of bedtime tales and big imaginations. Kristy’s favourite things include dancing like nobody’s watching, reading under blankets, and asking, “Where’s good to eat?” wherever her adventures take her. She lives in London with her big, noisy, wonderful family.
A bit about the illustrator: Chris Wheeler has always had a gift for bringing imagination to life through his drawings. When he isn’t designing and building beautiful houses, Chris enjoys spending time with his 13 grandchildren, sketching, and sharing a laugh-or two-at a good party.
