Book launch: Sash Bischoff presents Sweet Fury
In conversation with Jean Kwok
Wine reception to follow
Sash Bischoff, a theater director working on Broadway and Off, presents her debut novel Sweet Fury—a twisty, thought-provoking novel of construction and deconstruction in conversation with the works of F. Scott Fitzgerald. When beloved film star Lila Crayne is cast in a feminist adaptation of Fitzgerald's Tender Is the Night, she finds herself the victim in a deadly game of revenge in which everyone, on screen and off, is playing a part. Sweet Fury examines the narratives we tell ourselves and probes the blurred lines between victim and perpetrator, along with the true meaning of justice. With this novel, Bischoff delivers an incisive and bold critique of America’s deep-rooted misogyny. Joining Bischoff for an in-depth discussion is New York Times bestselling author Jean Kwok (Girl in Translation), followed by an audience Q&A and signing of the newly published title!
