I am very enthused to host another Tuesday night Body Prayer Dance. Join us for a night of wild expressions of soul.
Body Prayer dance is a container for free form movement and is open for many forms of SUBTLE as well as WILD expression. Contact improv, Butoh, bring your wild ass messy self... No previous experience or training is needed to participate. You can dance solo or in partner or group dances, the choice is yours.
This will be an hour and forty minute continuous playlist from
8-940 pm. This is a non verbal container, where we practice using our bodies to communicate and do not talk during the dance.
At 7:30 we will do some group somatic ritual to warm up and drop into our bodies before we begin the playlist at 8.

This is A SUBSTANCE FREE event, so please come ready to commit to the process of natural elevation through the Dance.
***You are in charge of your own body, no one will be enforcing this intention unless someone is impacting another person or the space in a negative/ distractive manner. If you choose to use plant medicines to deepen your experience, that is acceptable, but please know your limits, apply INTENTIONALITY with the medicine, and know that the medicine is not necessary, (and may even be a hindrance) in this environment to experience bliss, ecstasy, ego-transcendence, revelation, catharsis, or deep connection to your body, emotions, the music or the community.*
**Alcohol is ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED at this event, we reserve the right to ask anyone to leave who has been consuming alcohol.**
FEET FREE (shoes off on dance floor, socks are ok)
JEWELRY FREE (remove ALL potentially harmful items - watches, rings, necklaces, earrings)
DEVICE FREE (devices off & away, no photos or videos during dance please.)
VERBAL FREE (take conversations off dance floor. noises are welcome - cries, laughs, animal sounds etc.)
JUDGEMENT FREE ( practice releasing judgments of yourself, others, and any assumptions about what "good" dancing looks like, the uglier your dance, the better, we want to see your fullest expression, unhinged and authentic.)
PARTNER DANCE WITH CONSENT
(perceive and receive eye contact first, then navigate dancing together)
.Two 'handy' gestures to use for partner dancing
1. palms open & up to receive/ initiate a dance.
2. palms touching in front of you to decline (namaste gesture)

Entrance located Hamilton St. side in the fenced parking lot at back of building. you may park inside the gated area.

Suggested donation $10-$20 graciously accepted AND if you cannot donate at this time, please join us, as your presence and dancing body is a priceless gift itself! Also you can show up early and help us prepare for the dance if you'd like to contribute in that way (clean the floors, bathrooms, whatever).
