Blues by the Riverat the Belfast Boat Club

After our wonderful inaugural event in October with Anthony Toner, Lyric Hifi is proud to launch our very own new series of musical events - Blues by the River. Local talent playing great music in a beautiful location. What could be better?
The title is a nod to the late, great Dougie Knight, the font of all knowledge on jazz and blues. Back in the '80s he ran Jazz by the River in the same venue. Along with Solly Lipsitz he cajoled major jazz artists visiting the Guinness Spot at Queens Festival to do an extra night at the Boat Club. Great artists in an intimate venue, that’s the idea.
On Saturday May 23rd, we welcome Ken Haddock along with Chris Wills.
Ken’s interpretations of songs you thought you knew adds new dimensions to the music. His guitar playing is incredible and his voice is even better!
With him will be Chris Wills, a virtuoso of the harmonica. Together they are fantastic.
Once again, Ross and Michael from Lyric Hifi will be producing the sound with an all analogue desk.

About the venue
Belfast Boat Club is a new venue in a beautiful setting so come early and have a look round while you're here. The club is open all day, and for this performance doors open at 7pm, with kick off around 8pm. There is free public car parking here, just a 200m walk to the Boat Club. Over 18s only.
