About this Event
Wild Birds Unlimited Barrie is proud to sponsor the Nature Barrie Bluebird Trails. Join us for a special evening in partnership with Nature Barrie and their Bluebird Trail Committee.
We’ll begin at Wild Birds Unlimited Barrie with a short (30 minute) talk on the natural history of Eastern Bluebird and how to attract them to your yard.
Following the talk, we’ll travel to a nearby nest box trail where we’ll observe bluebirds in the field and hear from committee members about the success of these conservation efforts.
What to expect:
- A guided walk (~1.5 hours) at a comfortable pace
- Bird identification tips (by sight and sound)
- Insights native plants, and seasonal wildlife
- Opportunities to ask questions and learn along the way

- Format: Indoor talk + excursion to a local bluebird trail
- Duration: ~1.5–2 hours total
- Rain Date: June 4, 2026 at 6 pm

- Ages: 14+

🐦⬛ About Your Walk Leader
Kristen Martyn is a birder, Master Naturalist, and certified Pollinator Steward, as well as the owner of Wild Birds Unlimited Barrie & Newmarket. She is passionate about helping people connect with nature and will guide you through the sights and sounds of spring migration, sharing tips on bird identification, behaviour, and habitat along the way. Kristen is also currently completing a diploma in Landscape Design.
Weather / Rain Date
This event includes a rain date of June 4. Please ensure you are available for both dates when registering. Final details will be confirmed prior to the event.
Transportation
Participants are responsible for their own transportation. Following the initial portion of the event, we will travel to a nearby bluebird trail location (up to 20 minutes by car).
Event Waiver
All participants must complete an Event Waiver Form prior to attending. Each individual must submit their own waiver, including any guests registered by another participant. Please share the form with anyone you register.
No-Show Policy for Free Events
Many of our events have limited space. When you register, your spot—and any guest spots you reserve—are held for you.
If you or anyone in your party can no longer attend, please let us know as soon as possible and at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer those spaces to others.
Participants who do not attend and do not provide at least 24 hours’ notice will be ineligible to register for future free events for 1 year.
We kindly ask that you carefully consider your availability before registering.
Additional Notes
Our walks take place outdoors and run in a variety of conditions, including light rain, wind, or cooler temperatures. Trails may be uneven, muddy, or include natural hazards such as roots, insects, or poisonous plants.
While we aim to make our walks accessible, conditions and difficulty may vary and may not be suitable for all participants.
