About this Event
Block Talk on Tap: Know Your Ward
Ever wondered what actually happens inside City Hall, or why your neighborhood is shaped the way it is? Join Block Talk on Tap (presented by the 43rd Ward Volunteer Corps) for the inaugural installment of our community series as we pull back the curtain on local politics.
Local government shouldn’t feel like a mystery. Empower yourself with practical pathways for engagement, hold your government accountable, and strengthen your civic participation.
Whether you’re a lifelong resident or a newcomer to the neighborhood, this event is designed to give you the “user manual” for your ward.
Why You Should Be There:
- Learn the Mechanics. Get a clear, jargon-free breakdown of how a ward operates and how decisions are made.
- Demystify the Process. Find out who to call for what, and how you can actually influence local change.
- Meet Your Neighbors. Connect with fellow 43rd Ward residents who care about the community as much as you do.
- Get Involved. Discover ways to volunteer and make an impact right where you live.
- Support Local. We’re proud to host this event at The Bad Apple. Come early, grab a burger or a craft beer (or both!) and support a beloved local staple.
