Block Party with Emily Cooper Creations

Come join us for a block party at Luminary by La Terza! Emily Cooper is leading a block printing workshop where you can learn to carve and print your own block, enjoy a drink prepared by Luminary, and meet some new friends on a summer evening. This event promises a vibrant atmosphere with plenty of creativity and community spirit. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn something new and possibly gain a new hobby!

What can you expect at this workshop?

Included in your registration fee is one non-alcoholic drink provided by Luminary by La Terza and three hours of fun at the block party!

Everyone will be supplied with a carving block and a borrowed set of tools they can use to complete the block printing process. Emily will explain the steps of the process to everyone and then walk around and give one-on-one instruction as needed. There will be a couple designs available to transfer to the block. If you are feeling creative and would like to design your own block before you come to class, you can draw it using graphite pencil on a paper sized 4"x6". Please note that the design should not have tiny details as that can be hard to carve as a beginner. Keep it simple!

After everyone has carved their blocks, Emily will lead the printing process. Aprons will be supplied. We will use water-based ink that can be washed out of clothing.

After printing, you will leave with your carved block, your finished print, and information on continuing block printing as a hobby.

Please note that all participants must sign a liability waiver at the beginning of class. Emily will teach proper carving techniques, but block carving tools are sharp and accidents can happen. By signing the waiver you agree to not hold Emily Cooper Creations, LLC and/or Luminary by La Terza liable for any damages or injury.
