About this Event
Curated by Oakland Poet Laureate, Dr. Ayodele Nzinga, the Black Tulip™️ “Right-A-Thon”, is a narrative exploration of the need for a State policy that protects the RIGHTS of Black women and girls across the spectrum. This Right-A-Thon is an online invitation across media channels to respond to prompts designed to facilitate a community response to the threats of harm experienced by Black women and girls. The Right-A-Thon concludes in an 8-hour hybrid “Write-In” that’s accessible virtually (via Zoom) and live in-person at BAM House- featuring performances and powerful narratives that define safety and disrupt violence towards Black women, girls and gender expansive folks.
