Black Sheep Brass:
Dubbed by NPR Music as "Purveyors of oversized sounds", Black Sheep Brass brings a balanced blend of New Orleans classics and Bay Area Funk.In the previous year, BSBB released their album, The Ram Ewe Love. In that same year, they were crowned the winners of the 2022 High Sierra Music Band Contest and embarked on a tour of the PNW and parts of Mexico.In 2023, Black Sheep Brass was excited to return to the High Sierra Music Festival, and to grace the Vaudeville stage and parades with their BRASSfedFUNK for the entire fest for a second year in a row!
They have graced many a festival and have shared the stage with these other notable acts: Tank and the Bangas, Les Claypool, Railroad Earth, MarchFourth Marching Band, The Polish Ambassador, Ayla Nereo, California Honeydrops, Yaima, among others. Led by third generation bandleader Maxwell Church, BSB continues to evolve their unique Sonoma County/North Bay Area Funk/Jazz/Brass Band sound to spur unique originals that are sure to bring joy to a wide variety of audiences.
